FAQs
HFCL IO currently has UBR variants with throughput capacity of 1 Gbps and 2 Gbps.
The range depends upon various factors like – the antenna variant being used, interference in atmosphere, and LOS.
It uses Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) technology.
If the required coverage is not fulfilled by integrated antenna model then an external antenna variant is required to connect higher gain antenna.
HFCL IO provides many external antenna options like dish, flat panel and sector antenna with varying gains.
HFCL IO radios have proprietary interference mitigation technology that improves signal strength from noise floor, thereby increasing the overall SNR. Further, the radios also have ACS functionality to choose the best available channel by scanning and sensing the interference in all available channels.
UBR are powered using PoE (Power over Ethernet) switches based on IEEE 802.3af standard.
Select the highest possible channel bandwidth with least interfering channel and highest possible transmission power on both Master and Slave to ensure highest throughput.
Yes, HFCL IO provides both P2P and P2MP solutions.
UBR supports frame size up to jumbo frames.
It depends on customer requirement whether he wants to go with EMS along with radios or standalone. For small-scale implementation, generally we do not go with EMS.
It is provided on a per element (UBR) basis.
The EMS can be integrated with any third party NMS using the Northbound interface.
We have UBRs ranging from Low -Mid- High Capacity
- High Capacity 1 Gbps and 2 Gbps
- Medium Capacity 700 Mbps
- Low Capacity 300 Mbps
The range depends upon various factors like – the antenna variant being used, interference in atmosphere, and LOS.
- The 300 & 700 Mbps variants uses Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) and Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing (OFDM) technology in conjunction.
- The 1 Gbps and 2 Gbps variants uses Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) technology.
If the required coverage is not fulfilled by integrated antenna model, then an external antenna variant is required to get higher gain antenna.

It depends on customer requirement whether he wants to go with EMS along with radios or standalone. For small-scale deployments (only up to a few UBR links), customers generally do not need to go with EMS.
