The ion4le is an Enterprise/Carrier Grade Point-to-Point/Point-to-Multipoint (P2P/P2MP) solution that delivers up to 700 Mbps of aggregate throughput. It is optimally designed to support low to medium capacity applications, making it a reliable and cost-effective solution for 4G/5G wireless backhaul, as well as for short to long-range links.
This low capacity unlicensed band radio is engineered for durability in challenging outdoor environments and is IP67 certified for ingress protection. It can operate in extreme temperatures from -40°C to 55°C (for the extended temperature variant) and withstands wind loads up to 150 km/hour. The device also offers enhanced protection with 4kV surge protection via its PoE port.
This 700 Mbps UBR is built for effortless deployment with a Plug-and-Play model that minimizes manual intervention; a technician simply enters the IP address, and the radio automatically fetches its configuration. The setup is further simplified with LED and buzzer support for alignment, which reduces the need for wireless experts on-site. The radio also includes advanced management and diagnostic features, such as Dying Gasp for proactive power outage monitoring and a GPS-enabled system to aid in network planning and installation from a central location.
The ion4le unlicensed band radio utilizes Adaptive RF Technology, which leverages AI algorithms to optimize wireless communication in real-time. This includes Automatic Channel Selection (ACS) to intelligently select the best channel during new network deployments and Dynamic Channel Selection (DCS), which allows the radio to continuously adjust its operating channel based on real-time environmental conditions. For instance, it can switch to a new channel without any service downtime when high interference is detected. This ensures consistent performance and reliability, which is crucial for 4G/5G backhaul and other mission-critical applications.
ion4le UBR offers a flexible and cost-effective solution for network expansion. With its Redundant Link Switching feature, the radio supports 1+1 and 2+0 deployments, which ensures high network reliability with very little switching time. The ability to support both Point-to-Point (P2P) and Point-to-Multipoint (P2MP) deployments in the unlicensed 5 GHz band makes it a versatile tool for ISPs and Telcos seeking to efficiently extend their network and services.
Midhaul is an intermediate connection within a 5G network architecture, specifically linking the central unit (CU) and the distributed unit (DU) in a C-RAN (Cloud Radio Access Network) or D-RAN (Distributed Radio Access Network) setup. While backhaul connects the entire site to the core, midhaul handles the internal communication between different components of the 5G base station, and it requires even lower latency than backhaul.
Unlicensed Band Radios (UBRs) offer significant advantages in flexibility and cost.
Flexibility: UBRs provide the freedom to rapidly scale your network and adapt to new demands without bureaucratic delays. For many applications, they offer a perfect balance of performance and affordability
Deployment of our UBR solution is remarkably fast, often reducing project timelines by several weeks or even months compared to a licensed microwave or fiber installation. Our radios feature simple, intuitive interfaces for quick configuration and alignment, allowing your field teams to install and activate new links in a matter of hours, not days.
